Metro Radio Ratings Survey #7, 2016

Sydney

2GB dominated overall share once again, with 13% despite a slight decline of 0.3% since the last survey. Smooth FM have maintained the second highest share with 9.7%. KIIS 1065 saw the largest increase in share of 1.3% share taking their total share to 9.1%. ABC702 maintained fourth position with 9% despite a 1.1% decline followed by Nova 96.9 with 7.3% share. 2Day FM once again saw an increase in share of 0.3% taking their total share to 4.6%.

Alan Jones has won the Breakfast time slot for the 100th consecutive time, securing 16.9% share gaining a further 0.7% share since the last survey. KIIS 1065’s Kylie and Jackie O has overtaken ABC 702’s Robbie Buck after a jump in share of 1.9% taking their total share to 10.8%. ABC 702 sits closely behind KIIS 1065 with 10.7% share followed by WSFM 101.7’s Jonesy and Amanda with 7% share. 2Day FM’s Rove and Sam saw a slight decline in share of 0.1% taking their total share to 4.2%.

Smooth FM 95.3 have secured the highest share in Drive with 10.4% share despite a decline of 0.9%. 2GB’s Ben Fordham and ABC 702’s Richard Glover have tied in second position securing 9.5% share after ABC 702, who finished with the second highest share in the last survey, saw a decline of 1.1% share. Nova 96.9’s Kate, Tim and Marty have climbed to third position with 9.4% share followed by KIIS 1065’s Hughesy and Kate who secured fourth position with 9.2% share.

Melbourne

3AW has maintained their lead in share with 13.6% despite a slight decline of 0.5%. Fox FM has jumped from third to second position securing 10.1% share after an increase of 1.5%. ABC 774 has dropped to third place after a slight decline of 0.3% in share, taking their total to 9.5%. Gold finished on 8% share despite a slight decline of 0.6%.

3AW’s Ross and John continue to maintain their lead in Breakfast despite a 0.9% decline, securing 17.8% share. ABC774’s Red Symons has retained second position securing 12.3% share followed by Triple M’s The Hot Breakfast with 9.9%. Fox FM’s Fifi, Dave and Fev rounded out fourth position with 8.5% and saw an increase of 0.5% in share.

In Drive, Fox FM’s Hamish & Andy have secured the highest share with 13.3% share after seeing a significant increase of 2.3%, overtaking 3AW’s Tom Elliot with 12.1% share. ABC774’s Drive with Rafael Epstein maintained the third highest share with 8% despite a 0.5% decline. Nova 100’s Kate, Tim and Marty sit closely behind with 7.8% share.

Brisbane

Nova 106.9 has once again secured the highest share with13.5% share despite a slight decline of 0.2%. Mix 97.3 has maintained second position with 12.2% share with no change in share followed by Hit 105 with 10.8%. Triple M saw a decline of 0.8% in share but still held fourth position with 8.7% share.

In Breakfast, Nova 106.9’s Ash, Kip and Luttsy have claimed number one spot back from Mix 97.3, securing 12.6% share despite a decline of 0.6%. Mix 97.3’s Robin, Terry and Bob dropped to second position after a 0.9% decline securing 12.5% share. ABC 612’s Spencer Howson remained in third position with 11.3% share. 4KQ’s Laurel, Gary and Mark saw an increase of 1.4% in share, with 9.4% overtaking Triple M’s Marto and Ed Kavalee who dropped to sixth place after a decline of 1.6%, sitting behind Hit 105’s Stav, Abby and Osher who finished with 9%.

Nova 106.9’s Kate, Tim and Marty have once again secured the highest share in Drive with 16.3% followed by Hit 105’s Hamish & Andy with 14.4%. Mix 97.3’s Hughesy and Kate saw an increase of 0.6% in share, taking their total to 12.5% followed by Triple J with 9.9%.

Adelaide

Mix 102.3 maintained first position with 14% share despite a decline of 1.8%. ABC 891 has jumped from fourth to second securing 11.4% share after an increase of 0.9%. Nova 919 has dropped to third position despite seeing no change in share, and finished with 11.3% share followed by Hit 107 with 10.4%.

In Breakfast, ABC 891’s Matthew Abraham and David Bevan have once again secured the highest share and saw a further increase of 1.6% taking their total to 16.6%. Mix 102.3’s Jodie and Soda have retained second position with 12.8% despite a decline of 1.9% in share. Fiveaa’s David and Will secured the third highest share of 12.3% share and saw an increase of 1.5% followed by Nova 91.9’s Lewis and Lowe, with 10% share.

Hit107’s saw a significant increase of 2.3%, moving from fourth position to secure the highest audience share in Drive of 13.4%.  Nova 919’s Kate, Tim and Marty have slipped to second position with 13.2% share after a decline of 1%. Mix 102.3’s Hughesy and Kate saw a decline of 0.2% share and finished on 11.8% followed by Triple M’s Rush Hour with Jars and Louie who secured 10.7% share.

Perth

Mix 94.5 secured the highest share with 16.9% and saw an increase of 1.3%. Hit 92.9 moved from third to second place with 11.6% share after a 0.6% increase in share followed by Nova 93.7 who slipped to third with 11.2% share. Triple J maintained fourth position with 9.4% share.

Mix 94.5’s Clairsy, Matt and Kimba maintained first position with the highest share in Breakfast of 14.6% share. Nova 93.7’s Nathan, Nat and Shaun secured 11.9% share followed by ABC 720’s Robbie Buck with 11.7% share. Hit 92.9’s Heidi, Will and Woody saw an increase of 0.9% share and finished with 11.4% share.

On Drive, Mix 94.5’s Lisa and Pete have maintained the lead with 18.4% share and saw an increase of 2.3%. Hit 92.9’s Hamish & Andy and Nova 93.7’s Kate, Tim and Marty tied with 12.9% share, with Hamish & Andy showing a decline in share of 0.5% and Kate, Tim and Marty posting an increase of 0.6%. Triple J finished on 11.3% share despite a 0.2% decline.
